It's the Little Things - Week 5

Today I'm once again linking us with Ashley from Words about Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique for "It's the Little Things!"

There have been so many adorable and precious moments just during the last week alone that I really struggled to pick out this week's "Little Things."  After some thought, I managed to select a few of my favorite moments...

1.  A Harmonica concert from Miss Evie.  Thanks Grandpa....she loves playing this!  And it's actually pretty freaking adorable.

2.  Trying on mama's boots.  Evie is obsessed with shoes, and when she saw these shoes, there was no way she was not going to try to put them on. :)

3.  This look she gave me yesterday.  My innocent little troublemaker.  LOVE HER to bits.

Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday everyone!  Sorry for my lack of posts the last couple days!  I decided to turn myself off from my laptop this weekend and work has been more than a bit crazy lately as well!  I wanted to get a little post in today quickly recapping our great weekend!  It was pretty low key, but full of quality family time.  I've been really proud of how well I have been sticking to my new year's goal of really living in the moment and enjoying quality family time.  This weekend was my aunt's birthday, which meant a fun gathering of family.  Evie was THRILLED to spend time with her cousin Declan.  When he was getting ready to leave, she planted a bunch of adorable little kisses on him!  I was excited to snap this one, although a bit blurry! How cute is she!  My poor little girl started crying hysterically the second she saw their car pull away from the house though.  She sure does love her little cousin!!!  I can't wait for these two to get a little bigger so they can have more play dates.

Another highlight of our weekend was a visit to a fun indoor playground!  We are STILL dealing with winter weather here in the Midwest (where are you Spring?!?!?!) so we wanted to get out of the house and do something fun.  Evie had a blast crawling through water tunnels and sliding down the "water slide."  It always makes me so happy to see her smile so much!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend as well!  I am literally counting the days, minutes, seconds, until Spring.  This has officially been the LONGEST.WINTER.EVER.

It's the Little Things - Week 4!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today marks one month of linking up with Ashley from Words about Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique for "It's the Little Things!"  This is a very fun initiative and, as always, I'm happy to participate!

Lately Evie has been obsessed with water.  She LOVES bath time and LOVES washing her hands under a running faucet.  She always has a tantrum gets upset if the bathroom door is closed and I don't let her sit on the sink to wash her hands.  As annoying as it sometimes can be, when I step back, it's actually pretty adorable.  My little girlfriend just loves her some water!  And, I don't blame her!  Water is pretty cool, ha.  She is most adorable when she points at the soap dispenser, I help her wash her hands with it, and then she throws her hands in my face so that I can smell how lovely her hands smell.  I usually play along and inhale and go "ooooo wow!"  Evie loves this and always has the hugest smile on her face.  It makes me, in turn smile too!  It's these little things that make me appreciate this age.  She's exploring everything and it's incredibly cute watching her.

Valentines Weekend Recap

Happy Monday everyone!  Fresh off of Valentine's day weekend, I thought that I'd do a little weekend recap this Monday instead of a love list.  I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend spending time with your loved ones!  We had a wonderful weekend and are sad that it's over.  Our weekend was full of hearts: heart-shaped candy, outfits with hearts, and painting of hearts!

Yes, this weekend was Evie's first time painting!  I know it sounds a bit crazy to let a 19 month old paint, but she was actually really sweet and careful with it!  We spent Saturday night at a friend's house.  They set up a little painting station for the kids, complete with garbage bag smocks.  We are classy. ha!  Here are some pictures of my little Picasso hard at work!

Mommy and daddy helped a "bit."  :)  Here was her finished product!!!

I'm so proud of my little artist!  We had a great time painting and I look forward to many more arts and crafts days/evenings with my Evie!

Aside from our Saturday outing, we spent a low-key Valentine's day at home and some quality time with family on Sunday.  I also spent the entire weekend admiring my beautiful Valentine's day flowers from the hubby. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!  I absolutely love fun holidays like this!  I woke up this morning to beautiful roses from the hubby!  We don't overdo it on Valentine's day, but it's nice to exchange small gifts! :)  Evie's gift to me this morning was a 6am wake up call. Ugh. But, I had to forgive her once she gave me the world's biggest hug.  She warms my heart each and every day!!!  Happiest of Valentine's days to all of you!  I hope you enjoy it with your minis and significant others.

xoxo

It's the Little Things - Week 3

Wednesday means it's time to link up again with fellow bloggers Ashley from Words about Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique for "It's the Little Things!"

This week, I have been obsessing over Evie's amazingly plump CHEEKS!  I mean, come on...look at this little chipmunk!!  I have come to terms with the fact that these cheeks might not be around forever.  As she has been becoming more and more active, the cheeks may start to deflate a bit, which might make me cry.  So, I'm taking every opportunity to take pictures of her adorable little puffy cheeks now...and kiss them a million times a day too.  Who else can relate?!  Babies/toddlers have the most scrumptious little cheeks!!  This is just another one of the millions of little things that make me smile!

Valentine's Day Picks for Him

Valentine's day is just around the corner...do YOU have a gift for the man in your life?  If you're like me, the answer is "Oh crap. No."  ha.  Coming up with an idea for a gift can be tricky.  Guys are always so difficult to buy for!  For all the procrastinators like me, hopefully the below will help inspire some ideas.

Thank goodness for Amazon Prime, I will have my gift in time for Friday! :)

Scarves, Scarves, and more Scarves.

Happy Friday everyone!  TGIF!!!  So I probably have mentioned my obsession with scarves a few times on my blog.  It's seriously a problem - I have SO many!  As I was going through my huge baskets yesterday, I thought I'd take some pictures and share some of my favorites.  Keep in mind, this is not even all of my scarves.   There are probably at least 20 more.  I would say I have around 50, but that includes winter scarves too.  Most of these scarves are old (and most from Target, no surprise there), but I linked up any I found, or similar ones.  While organizing, I realized I have a lot of purple scarves!  I do love that color...so makes sense! :)

Black Floral Scarf (old, Target, similar here)  |  Colorful Watercolor Scarf (old, Target)  |  Paisley Floral (old, Target, similar here)

It's the little things - week 2!

I am linking up again this week with fellow bloggers Ashley from Words about Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique in a fun initiative to share the little things in our lives.

I LOVE that this link up makes me think about the little things on a weekly basis.  For the last 2 weeks, my little Evie has been "on-again off-again" sick with a cold and I've been getting in lots of snuggle time with her.  I hate seeing her sick, but the one positive thing is that she gets tired a lot faster and has been getting in plenty of rest.  I am slightly obsessed with taking her picture as she sleeps.  She just always looks so precious and peaceful, and I know she will not be this little forever, so I want to soak up all the cute little sleeping poses while I can!  Just call me a Mama-razzi.

In addition to loving watching her sleep, the other little thing that makes me happy is all her cute jammies!  I bought some cute heart pajamas for her at Old Navy recently and I can't get over how adorable they are (don't mind Evie's bad hair day...and the fact that you can see that we STILL don't have our molding done in our basement.)

It's the little things... :)

Monday Loveday - Spring Shoes Edition

Happy February everyone!!  The start of February means that we are closer to Spring, right?  Here's hopin'!  Anyways, even though my dreams of Spring are a bit far-fetched, I have already been on the hunt for some shoes for those sun-shiney days.  Instead of a list, I thought I'd compile a little board of Spring shoe inspirations!  I've had my eye on Hunter boots for Evie and myself for quite a while.  Maybe Spring is finally the time to pull the trigger? ;)  What's cuter than a little girl splashing around some puddles in her shiny silver Hunter boots?!  There are already so many great shoes out there that I am dying to scoop up.

Here are some of my faves for both me and my mini! :)
