It's the Little Things - Like Planning Family Vacations!

I've been really slacking on my blog posts lately.  Just the old lame excuse of life has been busy!  I have some exciting things coming up in May though so I'm excited to share that with all of you on the blog!  The next big thing we have coming up is our 4 day vacation to Florida!  We are headed to the St. Pete Beach area and I couldn't be more excited.  We have had some nice Spring days here in the Chicago area, but I'm aching for flip flops and tank tops!  Luckily the 80-degree Florida forecast should do the trick!

I'm pretty nervous about taking Evie on her first plane ride but hopefully she does well.  I would like to think we are well prepared (many thanks to all the mama-bloggers that have shared their travel tips!  I have been taking notes!).  She's been such a good girl lately that I have hope all will go well.  Looking back at pictures of her over the last week, I can't believe how big she's getting.  Ohhh, my little Evie is growing up!

I'd also like to share my weekly bump-date this week with everyone!

How Far Along: 16 weeks

Size of Baby:  Baby is 4 1/2 inches and the size of an avocado! :)

Gender:  Just 4 short weeks until we find out!  I can't wait!

Weight Gain: Around 5 lbs.

Symptoms:  Feeling good lately!!

Food Cravings/Aversions:  Aversions?  Not much.  Cravings?  Everything. ha.  I've been mostly craving cold and sweet things, like Fla.Vor.Ice freeze pops.  Don't judge me. haha!

Movement:  Not much lately, still just some flutters!  Looking forward to some true baby kicks!

Sleep:  I've been really tired lately and sleep has been AHMAZING.

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet.  I did recently buy some maternity tanks though so looking forward to wearing those soon!
What I Miss:  Being able to pop an Advil when I have a headache.  It stinks not being able to take any medication!

Best Moment this week:  Kisses to my belly from my sweet Evie.  She is going to be such a sweet big sister!!

Looking Forward To:  Vacation to Florida in a couple days!  Yay!  I'll be sure to recap with some pictures when we get back.  Hopefully Evie does well with her first time on an airplane!

It's the Little Things - like my little Apple :)

The last couple weeks have flown by!  I'm so excited to have finally shared my special news with the world and am already counting down the weeks until we can meet this little bun in my oven!  While we are pretty terrified on how we will be able to handle 2 kids, I'm confident that the hubby and I are up for the challenge.  Hopefully having two kids close in age will be worth the first couple years of chaos. :)

I'm also super excited to see Evie be a big sister.  Hopefully she loves her future brother or sister as much as all her baby dolls!

With that said, here's my weekly bump-date!

How Far Along: 15 weeks

Size of Baby:  The size of an apple this week :)

Gender:  We technically could find out since one of the tests I did also checks for gender, but we decided to wait until the traditional 20 week ultrasound.  The anticipation is killing me!  I feel like it's a boy, but I also thought that with my first pregnancy and I was very wrong. :)

Weight Gain: Probably around 3-5 lbs.

Symptoms:  Still just an occasional headache.  I feel so lucky to not have awful morning sickness!

Food Cravings/Aversions:  I've been loving soups lately - especially my mom's amazing tomato soup.  I'm also totally loving icecream.  Cliché I know. :)  So far the only aversion is still certain meats.  Tom brought home some hot grilled chicken from our local grocery store and the smell made me gag.

Movement:  Haven't felt too much.  An occasional flutter when I'm lying in bed.  I'm sure the movement will pick up in the next few weeks. :)

Sleep:  I've been sleeping really great lately!  Knock on wood.  But I've had some crazy dreams!  I remember crazy dreams during my first pregnancy too.

Maternity Clothes:  Nope!  Still fitting in my jeans which makes me happy.  I have to find my box of maternity clothes though.  I'm sure I'll only last another month or two.
What I Miss:  Definitely miss the occasional alcoholic beverage.  Especially at Easter.  My family was enjoying wine and drinks, and I couldn't partake.  That part stinks.

Best Moment this week:  Getting normal test results back from the doc.  Baby is healthy and everything looks great. :)

Looking Forward To:  Going shopping for vacation clothes...and hopefully picking out some maternity pieces for the summer too!

Easter Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter weekend! Ours was fantastic!  We were lucky to have some of the nicest weather that we have had in a long time in the Chicago area!  It was in the high 60s on Saturday and low 80s on Sunday!  Talk about perfection!  On Saturday morning we packed up our baskets and headed to my parent's house.  We love going to my family church to have our Easter baskets blessed.  This is a Polish tradition that I have loved since I was a little girl and I'm so happy that Evie gets to experience it now!  After we had our baskets blessed, we came back to my parents house to a wonderful Easter Saturday brunch!  After we ate five tons a lot of food, we headed outside to play in the sun.  We set up a little mini egg hunt for Evie.  She loved running around, picking up eggs, then opening them to see what was inside. :)

On Sunday we headed to Easter morning mass at our local church and then went to my sister-in-law's house to spend the holiday with my husband's side of the family.  Evie had a blast playing with her cousins and we all, again, indulged in delicious home-cooked food.  Did I mention I love being pregnant during holidays?  So much good food to indulge in!  :)  My sister-in-law set up an awesome egg hunt for the kids and they all played outside for the afternoon while the adults sat back with some adult beverages.  It was truly a great holiday weekend, with perfect weather!

It's the Little Things - Literally! :)

Happy Thursday everyone!  I missed a couple posts this week since Evie has been sick with a fever.  Luckily, she is doing much better now, so I can dedicate some time to blogging again! :)  I'm bummed I missed out on my "It's the Little Things" post yesterday, but I figured, I'd just post it today anyways!  My "little thing" this week is quite literally, a LITTLE THING growing in my tummy! :)  So I thought I'd start doing some "bumpdates"!  I've been looking forward to doing these with baby #2.  I'll also try to post some pics once my bump starts showing :)

How Far Along: 14 weeks

Size of Baby: Lemon!

Gender: Don’t know yet.  We are looking forward to finding out hopefully in late May.

Weight Gain: Only about a 1-2 lbs. so far

Symptoms: I’ve had awful headaches this time around. Thankfully no sickness to speak of yet. Otherwise I’ve just been feeling extra tired.

Food Cravings/Aversions: I’ve been loving fruit – mainly oranges, strawberries, and blueberries. And of course, anything chocolate. The only aversion so far has been certain meats.

Movement: Feeling some flutters when I am laying still in bed at night! It’s exciting to feel them a little earlier this time around!

Sleep: Pretty good, but already starting to toss and turn.  Since I'm a stomach sleeper, the pressure is already making me uncomfortable.  I have a feeling sleep is going to be tough this pregnancy. :(

Maternity Clothes: Not yet. Still wearing my regular clothes. I’m looking forward to dresses and maxi skirts this summer though!
What I Miss: Having a glass of wine. And guzzling down coffee every morning.

Best Moment this week: Finally sharing the news with the world!

Looking Forward To: Our trip to Florida in a couple weeks! Can’t wait to dip my toes in the ocean and soak up some rays at the beach!!

Surprise!!!

I am SUPER excited to announce that we are expecting baby #2 this October!!!

I am about 13 weeks now and luckily not feeling much sickness at all, which is ahhhmazing!  Here's the very first picture of our little pumpkin, due October 15th.

Evie seems to be excited for her new role as a big sister and has already kissed my belly a dozen times, which makes my heart melt into a million billion pieces. I just know she will be a wonderful big sister!

We are feeling very blessed and thankful for everyone’s love and support so far and are really beyond excited to grow our family!

It's the Little Things - Like Beautiful Spring Days

In the Midwest, we have been tortured with a brutal winter - mounds of snow, freezing temps, and a blizzard called the "Polar Vortex."  Needless to say, Spring has been a much needed and welcome season.  We've had some 50 degree days lately and it's been lovely.  Evie has been enjoying running around outside.  I've been tempted to put her in a sundress, but I have to remind myself that 50s is still chilly so it's unfortunately it's still coat and hat weather!  Soon enough we'll be able to store these away!

Nothing like an afternoon enjoying a strawberry, soaking in some rays, and playtime with her favorite little guy Declan. :)

Shopping for Nautical Styles!

With Spring in full swing, I've found that most of my favorite stores have brought out their summer stock.  Yay!  As I've been browsing online for Evie, I've been coming across a lot of cute items in a very popular theme - nautical!  I love this style and think it's perfect as the summer gets closer!  Below are a few of my favorite finds!
2-piece dress  |  Swimsuit  |  Headband  |  Navy tunic  |  Shorts  |  Sandals

It's the Little Things - Like Funny Faces

As I was flipping through my iPhone this morning, I couldn't help but notice that half of my pictures probably need to be deleted because either they are blurry or Evie is making a crazy face.  As I started to delete some, I thought, why would I delete the ones where she is making a funny face?  If anything, these pictures are AWESOME because they show off her spunky and silly personality.  Ten years from now, I definitely want to remember what a silly little girl she was.

So, for this week's "It's the Little Things" I thought I would share some of the many faces of little Miss Evie.  You never know what crazy face you'll get when you ask her to smile...but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
